Lombachalp Trail

The trail starts at Lombachalp at the Restaurant Jägerstübli, which is located at 1560 m above sea level. Here, before or after cross-country skiing, a refreshment break on the sunny terrace is recommended. From the parking lot, the groomed trail leads nestled between Hohgant and Augstmatthorn through the idyllic moorland. The trail runs past gentle streams, wild spruce trees and mountain pines towards the Hohgant massif, up to the Alp Habchegg and back along the same route, offering the cross-country skier numerous beautiful views of the bizarre karst fields and the surrounding mountains. With some luck, one may spot a deer or a ptarmigan, which do not like to have their almost eerie peace disturbed by the foreign visitors.
