Description
The Leutwiler Moos Nature Arena, where the trail is laid out when there is enough snow, is an idyllic and quiet high plain southeast of the farming village. The landscape on the ridge between the Wynen and Seetal valleys is extensive and open. The area is relatively flat and is therefore intensively farmed during the summer months. In the winter months, the trail master uses a snow vehicle to create a track about three kilometers long with a loop on the eastern slope. The trail therefore includes some technically demanding descents. Those who wish to avoid them can choose various shortcuts.
After a gentle ascent, the track in the second half partly follows the edge of the forest. Several times it crosses the Mühlebach stream, which was renatured between 1989 and 2015 and runs through the entire municipal area. The start and finish is at the Leutwil Shooting Range, where parking is also available.
