Leimental route

The wide Leimental welcomes the bikers and the climb over Mariastein brings a few drops of sweat to the forehead. A stop at one of the restaurants is therefore well deserved. The Mariastein monastery is one of the most beautiful monastery complexes in Switzerland. The route continues through the picturesque Klus near Aesch, the largest wine-growing area in Basel Country, and then to the numerous sights of Birseck – Goetheanum/Dornach, Cathedral & Ermitage/Arlesheim as well as the Merian Gardens and Park im Grünen/Münchenstein. The short detour across French territory requires you to carry an ID.
