Description
From Langis along the pass road, after about 500 m at the signpost "Zivilfahrzeuge" (civil vehicles) take the branch and reach the ascent track. This leads through sparse pine forest and on old path to Alp Schnabel. From there, you reach the narrow ridge cut at point 1755 on the snow-covered path, where you ascend directly over the ridge to Seewenegg and Rickhubel. Along the way, a view first opens south into the Bernese Alps and then northeast with a wonderful panorama over the Pilatus range, Lake Lucerne and the Sarneraa valley.
The circular route leads eastward down the summit slope and terrain terraces to Alp Rick. Freshly snow-covered slopes invite you to create your own track, before following disciplined the safe common trail down the narrowing valleys to the Glaubenberg Pass. The Passhöchi hut, open on weekends, is always good for a relaxing break with enjoyment of Obwalden specialties after completing the tour, before reaching the Langis parking lot again in 20 minutes.
