Description

The hike starts at Kollbrunn station. The route follows the tracks to the cemetery. A bit further on, a hiking trail branches off to the right. This path first takes you through the forest to the Bäntalbach, through a mystical ravine. You then continue to the Tüfelschilen – a former tuff quarry, now completely overgrown with moss since its closure. Water trickles over it – simply beautiful.

The trail continues on the Zürioberland ridge path over meadows and forests up to Schauenberg. From there, enjoy the stunning view over the Zürioberland and the sight towards Elgg. The castle ruins invite you to linger and are an ideal spot for an extended rest.

Afterwards, you set off towards Elgg. The hiking trail leads you through the romantic Farenbachtobel with its waterfalls and many small bridges into the picturesque village of Elgg. It is worth visiting the village center with its four old main streets and beautiful half-timbered houses.
