Karst educational route Laufental

It is the unique creative power of water that has shaped this area south of the Birs. Here you will find a variety of karst and cave phenomena combined in a small area: a karst landscape you can touch, which changes its appearance dramatically depending on the water level and season. Over a dozen information boards along the theme route in the Brislachallmet and the Kaltbrunnental explain the secrets of the underground, the sensitive ecosystem of the caves, their formation, and the light-shy inhabitants. The biology and history of this section of the Laufental, which is hardly to be surpassed in its wilderness, are vividly explained and reveal a fascinating world that would otherwise remain hidden from us.
