Jungfrau trek

Description
The Alpentraverse follows the high peaks of the Bernese Alps from east to west. From day one in Lauterbrunnen, it continues westward each day through a particularly varied landscape. Especially in the first days, the view falls on the Jungfrau (4158m), together with the Eiger and the Mönch the best-known summit in this area on the border with the canton of Valais. A few times you descend to the valley or alpine pasture. This also allows you to enjoy patches of forest, many flowers, and old alpine farms. And lakes like the splendid Oeschinensee. The trek is technically one of the more challenging hut-to-hut hikes. Narrow paths on steep slopes and tough pass crossings are regularly on the menu. A well-known pass is the Hohtürli near the impressive Blüemlisalp chain. In the last days, surefootedness is required along the cables and chains on the way to the Lohnerhütte. Important: steady footing and no fear of heights.
