Description
From Chamanna Jenatsch:
From Chamanna Jenatsch (2652 m), ascend towards the Vadret d'Err up to 2900 m. Here turn north over a steep ledge to the large terrace below the south face of Piz Jenatsch and head towards a steep snow couloir which ends 100 m west of the summit. Ascend this with skis as far as possible, then on foot and over the west ridge to the summit. 2 hours.
Descent: via the ascent route
Descent into Val d'Err to Tinizong:
Great descent over the steep northwest slopes of the Fuorcla Laviner (30° on 300 vertical meters). Only in safe conditions.
Descent: from the summit (3250 m) via the northeast ridge to the Fuorcla Laviner (3002 m). Then northwest over magnificent slopes into the gently sloping Val d'Err to Alp d'Err and Alp Viglia (1974 m). Follow the alpine path downhill to Tinizong (1232 m).
From Chamanna Jenatsch to Fuorcla Laviner:
Mostly undertaken in connection with a descent to Naz or Tinizong. The traverse of the steep southeast slopes of Crasta Jenatsch can be tricky in hard snow (up to 35°).
Ascent: from Chamanna Jenatsch (2652 m) traverse to the steep, rocky southeast flank of Crasta Jenatsch to P. 2663. Then turn northwest through the large hollow of Vadret Laviner to the northeast ridge southwest of Fuorcla Laviner (3002 m). Ski as high as possible on the left side of the ridge to the summit rocks, then on foot over the rocky ridge to the summit. 2.5 hours.
Descent: via the ascent route, but nicer to Naz in the Albula valley.
