In the Eisenbahnerquartier

This route takes you through the northern part of St.Gallen. It begins with a special staircase, the Rötelitreppe. It goes both up and down. Looking back, you can spot the Säntis between the trees. Near the end of the Rötelitreppe, you reach the so-called Eisenbahnerquartier with many cooperative apartments and houses, originally planned for railway employees. It's a pleasant place to linger and you will find cozy spots. If you then continue the route and arrive at the top of Rosenberg, you suddenly feel like you are in another world. It is called "Institut am Rosenberg", a boarding school for the very, very wealthy. Now you go up and down several times, sometimes with a view of the old town, then back up to Rosenberg. In the end, you know: Today you have climbed many stairs, you can be proud of yourself.
