Description
Are you ready for a mountain experience? From Obergschwend, we walk a short way up the mountain road and turn right towards Käppeliberg. Then continue up the forest path to Zilistock. Shortly after, the blue-white alpine trail to Hochflue begins. This path leads us over warm rock walls, on which ropes and chains are mounted for holding on. At the top of the summit, there is a plateau where you can relax or picnic comfortably. The view here is, for me - I don’t know how else to say it - otherworldly. The view of the long stretch of the Alpine chain paired with the turquoise Lake Lucerne far below is unique.
The descent is spectacular from the first moment: We climb down a roughly 17-meter-long ladder vertically to the hiking trail. From there, it continues steadily downwards to the Restaurant Gätterlipass. A cool drink on the terrace rounds off the experience. From there, the way back to Obergschwend is just a short hop.
Note: Snowfields are still possible in May! So that future generations or tomorrow’s hikers can also enjoy the path, please take your rubbish back with you.
