Hiking trail "Rheinfelder star oaks": Stage 1

In 1944, at the local community, Ernst Grell applied for the symbolic sign for the stars on the Rheinfelden coat of arms that "nine oaks should remain as an untouchable symbol in the forest or stand for all future times." The application was accepted and the then forest manager Fritz Wunderlin designated nine oaks spread throughout the forest sections – the star oaks. They were marked with a red star and a consecutive number.

The hike is divided into 2 stages. It leads to the nine star oaks as well as past other very old and mighty "federal oaks."
