Description
This approximately 6.5 km long, varied circular hiking route starting at the SBB station first leads you past the former Salmen brewery, where you reach the Augarten residential area via the Rhine trail. It continues along the golf course to the edge of the "Berg" forest area and returns through the Feldschlösschen brewery back to the station.
The Salmen brewery was founded in 1799 on Marktgasse by Franz Josef Dietschy from Pfaffenberg / Baden. The Salmen pond served as an ice pond for the Salmen brewery until around 1900. Today, the pond is maintained by the city's fishermen's guild.
The Weiherfeld forest is a nature reserve and is left in its original state as a floodplain forest without maintenance measures.
From the Peace trail, there is a beautiful view over the Rhine into the southern Baden areas (Dinkelberg, Hotzenwald).
The Feldschlösschen brewery was founded in 1876 by Theophil Roniger, brewer from Magden, and Matthias Wüthrich, farmer from Olsberg.
