The hike starts at Läufelfingen station and leads through the village to the Chrätziger playground. The large treehouse will fascinate every child – but there is much more to discover. For example, the medieval theme route, which provides families on the way to the castle ruins with lots of exciting information about the life of knights. Here you learn why the castle inhabitants never went to bed without a nightcap or why oversized shoes were very popular. After a short stretch in the forest, a well-equipped rest area awaits the perhaps already hungry excursionists: covered barbecue area with wood storage, various play opportunities in the forest, and a giant BLKB bench. As the crowning conclusion of the hike, the impressive Homburg castle ruin beckons with a magnificent panoramic view from the battlement of the former residential tower. It's also worth planning enough time here. There are various barbecue areas with great views, and the castle ruin is a perfect place for knight or hide-and-seek games. Those who do not want to return the same way choose the hiking trail down to Buckten station. The path from Läufelfingen to Homburg Ruin is not suitable for strollers, as it leads over forest paths with roots. Alternative: out and back from Buckten station.
Pure walking time Läufelfingen – Homburg Ruin – Buckten: about 1 hour, but it is recommended to allow at least half a day or even a whole day for the trip.
