Hike from Unterwasser over the Winden Pass to Schwägalp

We hike past the post office building and along the Thur to Nesselhalden and further to Halden. Now it goes uphill. Over Egerten, east past the Lauiberg, we ascend onto the high plateau. After a short time, we stand at the idyllic Gräppelensee, which towards the east, together with the imposing western flank of the Schafberg, presents an unforgettable picture. North of the lake, the path leads to Hintergräppelen. Via Foggboden, it goes uphill to Hinterwinden and to the Winden Pass. On the northern side, we descend to Alp Hoffert. This section of the path is partly covered with rock debris and should be approached with caution. From Hoffert, our route gently ascends over the ridge to Ober - and Unter Hofeld and descends over Alp Bumoos to Dunkelboden. The path runs almost flat to Stelzenboden, then we hike briefly uphill again to the Dreckloch and pass the alpine huts of Gmeinen Wisen before reaching Schwägalp.
