Hike Büren a. A. – Altreu Ferry

Almost its entire length from the source to the mouth, the Aare is developed with magnificent riverside paths. One of the most beautiful sections is considered to be the stretch downstream from Büren a. A. With its castle, town hall and the colorful arcade houses, the starting point Büren offers a pretty townscape. The covered wooden bridge adds the most distinctive architectural accent. The structure appears old only superficially. It burned down in 1989 due to an attack; the remains were then replaced by a reconstruction.
