Description
Start at Lüderenalp
Your tour begins at Lüderenalp, which you can conveniently reach with the BLS hiking bus from Langnau. Keep in mind that the bus service is seasonal and operates only on weekends. A look at the current timetable is therefore recommended. Right at the start, you can stop by Hotel Bärnsicht to refresh yourself for the upcoming hike.
On the way towards Napf
The path takes you up and down along a mostly wide ridge. You will pass small farms, alpine pastures, and traverse forests. Several mountain inns along the way invite you to rest and enjoy regional specialties. The route is characterized by narrow, scenic trails that repeatedly open up new perspectives of the surrounding landscape.
Summit experience on Napf
After a final ascent, you reach the spacious summit meadow of Napf at 1,408 meters above sea level. The panoramic view is simply magnificent: your gaze sweeps from Entlebuch over the rolling landscape of the Emmental to the Jura arc. In good visibility, you can even admire the Bernese Alps in all their glory. On the summit, the Berghotel Napf invites you to stop by. Please note that it can be very busy, especially on weekends.
Descent to Mettlenalp
The descent from Napf to Mettlenalp initially goes steeply down through the forest. Once at Mettlenalp, you have the option to take the hiking bus back to Langnau. Also note here that the bus service is seasonal and often runs only on weekends.
