Description
The tour starts from St. Antönien towards Partnun / Rüti. Below the Hotel Büel, the road branches off towards Partnun and towards Gafia. From there, the track follows the Gafier Bach uphill to Litzistafel (1747 m above sea level). The path passes the imposing Schlangenstein, where according to legend Saint Antonius is said to have banished snakes. After Schlangenstein, near Litzistafel, ascent continues depending on snow conditions towards Säss (1946 m above sea level).
Below Säss, the routes split towards Eggberg and Hasenflüeli, which can soon be spotted. From the massive stone cairn, you cross below the Flüeli towards the Rätschenfluh until you see the gully leading up to the ridge of Hasenflüeli. Ski depot and ascent to the summit. Depending on conditions, this ascent and the "ridge walk" to the summit range from easy to difficult. For the last few meters, an ice axe and crampons may be useful.
Powder snow makes the descent into the Gafiental recommended. During firn conditions, the descent to Ascharina is worthwhile.
