Description
A beautiful, rather rarely used route that should not be underestimated with about seven and a half hours of hiking time. In Engi at the weaving mill, the route first leads through the forest over Grüenen to the Gufeli Oberstaffel alp hut. From there, it continues on the east side of the Gufelstock through sometimes quite rocky terrain towards Breitchamm. After crossing the Chamm, the path goes slightly downhill through a scree slope. At point 2351m, keep right. The just over 100-meter ascent to the Gufelstock is definitely worth it. From there, enjoy a stunning panoramic view, on clear days from the Glarus Alps to Lake Constance. Return the same way to the fork and continue towards Fessis. Soon you will reach the idyllic Fessis-Seeli. Over Oberfessis and Alp Fessis, where you can surely get something to drink from the herders and also buy fine Glarus alpine cheese, descend towards Achseli down to Sool.
