Description

1200 meters in altitude are quite a lot for a snowshoe tour. The tour is often done on snowshoes from the hamlet of Gün. This tour, which is around 250 meters shorter, is feasible for well-trained hikers. The tour is then no longer possible by public transport. The road to Gün can be challenging in winter.

We start the tour from the valley road and have to make steep tracks at the beginning. At the Gün farm, the view of the mountains becomes more impressive with every step. At almost 2000 meters above sea level, the Güner huts are waiting for us. A break at a warm hut wall is now the order of the day. The route continues over the broad shoulder to a small micro hut. The snow on the ridge is often blown away by the wind, but that doesn't stop us from trudging up to the steep final slope. The summit slope, with a steepness of around 33 degrees, is often filled with drift snow. In safe conditions, however, it is definitely worth the effort, as the reward comes in the form of an incredible panoramic view. The view down to the west side, which is not accessible in winter, is also “not bad”.

On the descent, we indicate a small variant here, but this is freely selectable. The wide slopes offer many possibilities.
