Guarda – Lai Blau – Alp Suot – Guarda

The tour starts in the middle of Guarda at the PostBus stop Guarda, cumün. We walk 200 m eastwards through Schellen-Ursli's home village and turn left at the junction towards Alp Sura and Chamonna Tuoi. From here on, every turn is uphill! From the water reservoir, the trail more or less follows the direct fall line through the forest, past the small lake «Al Laiet» to Alp Sura, where there is a restaurant. From here - after half the day's ascent - there is a somewhat flatter section (150 hm over 1.5 km) along the mountain slopes, always inwards into the valley to Marangun. The following final ascent leads us in 3 km and 400 hm always along the western slope to Lai Blau. This lies picturesquely between Piz Cotschen and Piz da las Clavigliadas and reflects the mighty peaks of Piz Buin and Piz Fliana - it is well worth the effort.

The descent is a little stony at first, but soon leads gently over alpine mats and conveys a feeling of weightlessness. Below Alp Suot we cross the Clozza mountain stream and then follow its course. After the Foura Turnina gorge, the stream is crossed again and from point 1561 the last short 500 m climb back to Guarda follows.
