Grimmialp Trail: Ibex in sight

The starting point of the Grimmialp Trail is the Schwenden i.D. / Grimmialp stop or the Senggiweid car park on the Grimmialp at the back of the Diemtigtal. From there the snowshoe walk starts along the valley floor up to the Waldmanndli area and further to the Nidegg alpine hut. It then continues through the Nidegg forest to the wildlife observation station. A telescope is provided there – with some luck you can observe the exposed ibex colony. The highest point of the snowshoe hike is reached at the ski lift leading to the Upper Stiereberg. The descent down to Senggiweid then follows the Nidegg slope, away from the ski runs. The view into the valley forms a worthy conclusion to the snowshoe tour.
