Description
Situated above Lej da Segl, Grevasalvas is the Engadin’s ‘Heididorf’, a quaint hamlet where the television series Heidi was shot in 1978. Well worth a visit, this route offers wonderful vistas as well as taking in Pass Lunghin, a rare triple watershed from which water runs into the Atlantic Ocean (via the Rhine), Mediterranean Sea (via the Po) and Black Sea (via the Danube).
From the sporting hub of Muot Marias, head towards Sils Baselgia to the Via Engiadina. Rising gently above Lej da Segl the trail eventually reaches lush open pasture with a delightful view over Grevasalvas. Pop down to the hamlet for a quick visit, otherwise continue on the rising trail crossing streams and sections of moorland en route to Lej da Lunghin. From here, the ascent to Pass Lunghin is worth the effort. On Pass Lunghin is the triple watershed from which water runs into the Atlantic Ocean (via the Rhine), Mediterranean Sea (via the Po) and Black Sea (via the Danube). Relax on the descent enjoying the flow trail before concentrating on the final zigzag section down to Maloja.
