Description
Before heading downhill, the Glacier Bike Tour leads once again high up in a loop over Lenzerheide for a panoramic view of the central Graubünden mountain world.
On the descent you roll on narrow roads through small charming hamlets. Soon it changes from asphalt to a forest path and the adventure begins with the Schinweg carved into the steep mountain slopes. "The Old Schin" was once an important connection between North Bündnerland and the Engadine.
You meet civilization again in Scharans. You are greeted by a red-colored concrete house. A few meters further you ride past the village square at the oldest linden tree in Switzerland: the hollow tree is 800 years old.
Star chef Andreas Caminada has fulfilled his dream of a realm of enjoyment with Schloss Schauenstein and the Casa Caminada in Fürstenau – the smallest town in the world. Besides Schloss Schauenstein (19 Gault Millau points) and the vegetarian restaurant, there is a bakery and a roastery.
