Description
This is a rather unknown pass hike in the Zürcher Oberland. You leave the tranquil village of Bäretswil. Along the Aabach you make your way comfortably through the forest and over lovely meadows to the pond in Sandbühl, where in summer you can often observe dragonflies. Then you proceed to Hinter Bettswil. After that, the path becomes a bit steeper, but at Ferenwaltsberg you reach the highest point of the hike and can enjoy the great view repeatedly along the way. The actual “pass crossing” is a bit further on at Ghöch, where two historical path sections show that this route has been used for a long time. From here, the trail goes up and down several times until you descend from the hamlet Schloss to Steg.
