Geissewäg – the Wasen pleasure route (Vorderarniwäg)

Enjoy the charming hilly landscape on this route and let your hosts spoil you along the way with a variety of regional products.

The hike begins at Restaurant Grütli or Rössli. After a strengthening mid-morning snack, you pass by the beautiful Wasen church, then climb steeply up Hambühl towards Fleuteli until reaching Vorderarni. From here, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view in all directions.

The hike continues to Kuttelbad, a small and romantically located restaurant in the middle of the forest, where a well-deserved lunch awaits.

After lunch, we continue hiking to Höchstall. Here stands a log house built from wood damaged by storm Lothar. It impressively reminds of the massive natural event from 1999.

From Höchstall, the path leads into Chäpplergfäl, then right via Ruchsite down into the Hornbach valley. Here, follow the road on the left towards Hornbach-Pinte. A short stop at the Fritzenhaus mountain dairy (about 100 m to the right) is recommended not only for cheese lovers. On the terrace of the Restaurant Hornbach-Pinte, a delightful afternoon snack awaits.

The path then leads back to the village, where you can end the day enjoying a cold Napf beer.
