Gantrisch via ferrata

Best Time of Year
Description
The sport via ferrata attracts numerous via ferrata enthusiasts each year to the summit of the Gantrisch (2176 m) in the nature park of the same name. The climbing facility is equipped with some demanding climbing sections as well as numerous foot pegs, ladders, and clamps, and leads over nearly 300 meters of elevation steeply, partly smooth and overhanging to the eastern side of the Gantrisch. The route includes two key sections – the “Küre-Wändli” in the lower area and the “Horber-Kante” shortly before the end – and features continuous cable protection. At the summit, climbers are rewarded with a fantastic view of the mountain world in the Bernese Oberland and the surrounding giants of the Swiss Alps.
The via ferrata is open from June 15 to October 15 each year.
PeaksofmyLife and the Gantrisch Nature Park have launched a fundraising campaign for the preservation of the via ferrata. Become a Gantrisch via ferrata supporter now and secure the IRON Supporter shirt, hoodie, or a cool enamel mug. 50% of the proceeds flow directly into the preservation of the via ferrata.
