From Moutier to the Thal Nature Park

Taking the train from Solothurn, we reached Moutier comfortably, the central location of Bernese Jura. Our path led us across national farm estates and typical Jura meadows. We reached the Graitery (1185 m) via a strenuous zigzag path and two steep stairs. The onward path was easy. Cows continue to spend their summer grazing season on the Loge aux Boeuf (1142 m). On the Oberdörferberg (1242 m), we stayed with Luzia and Andi and relished their self-made Black Forest gateau. Just before that, we crossed the Cantonal border and the language border. After this, the path was mainly downhill towards Gänsbrunnen, the entrance to the Thal Nature Park.

Good to know: Moutier can be reached by train from Solothurn main station. Ride from Gänsbrunnen to Solothurn by train.
