Description
The starting point is Mandach, nestled between gentle hills and fields. Right from the start, you'll be accompanied by a typical Jura Park landscape with fruit trees, meadows, and wide views. After a leisurely ascent, you'll reach the Nünbrünne – a historic spring surrounded by legends and stories. The place radiates a special calm and invites you to take a short break. Here you can discover fresh spring water and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. From here, continue towards Böttstein Castle. The impressive castle is beautifully situated above the Aare River and has a long history. The complex originally dates back to the Middle Ages and was later rebuilt – today it is a true eye-catcher and popular photo subject.
From here follows probably the most relaxed part of the hike: the path along the Aare. The river meanders quietly through the landscape, accompanied by floodplain forests, bird songs, and occasional swimming spots. Especially in summer, the clear water invites you to refresh yourself. The tour ends at the Döttingen pool. Here awaits the perfect reward: a dive into the cool water or simply relaxing on the sunbathing lawn. The pool offers a great atmosphere right by the water.
