Description
From Lyss station through the underpass eastwards and through a slightly pronounced small valley in a wide arc to the southern edge of the Dreihubel forest. You already enjoy a wide view of the eastern flank of the Frienisberg and into the Grosse Moos. For a short stretch, you cross the forest, afterwards you find yourself in a completely changed landscape: wide, flat fields and individual farms now prevail. Beautiful view from Hasenacher to the densely packed ridges of the hamlet Ottiswil in front of the mixed forests of the Bucheggberg area. Now the path turns northward, crosses the Lyss–Limpachtal road and stretches over the clearing to Brandholz. Beyond wide fields Hardern is visible, otherwise only colorful forest as far as the eye can see. Through this, you now descend gently. From the forest edge, beautiful views of Städtiberg, the Aare plain and Jura. Büetigen features a number of pretty rural buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries. Keeping the direction, cross the village and straight along a long row of poplars and a drainage ditch across the wide plain to Dotzigen station. Briefly follow the railway line, cross the Eichibach and the main road in the village and past the prominently located turn-of-the-century villa with turret, the small castle, into the hollow path that climbs steeply through the forest. After about 50 m inside the forest, the path forks: straight ahead it goes over Städtiberg, rich in erratic blocks and bowl stones. At the forest edge, beautiful views of the riverside trees at the Old Aare, the Bütteberg, the Jura and the little town Büren a. A., which you reach by a short descent.
