Description

The fantastic mountain world around the mighty Titlis, the unique flora, the deep blue mountain lakes, and the breathtaking views of the Central Swiss Alps are just some of the highlights of this hike.

The starting point for the Four Lakes Hike is the mountain station Melchsee-Frutt. Initially, the path leads to the Melchsee, the sparkling natural reservoir, where fishing is becoming increasingly popular. At its edge, the small beautiful chapel, often booked for weddings, beckons. The hiking trail leads directly over Müllerenhütte to the Tannensee. Here you can comfortably take a short break by the fireplace with a covered seating area. A little further to Tannalp and then it goes straight down again to the enchanting fish-rich Engstlensee.

At Engstlensee, the ascent to Jochpass begins. A small refreshment is offered by the mountain guesthouse before descending on the other mountain side to Trübsee. On Trübsee, the beauties of the surroundings can be explored by rowing boat. On the way to Engelberg, the restaurant Untertrübsee invites you for a short detour, where they have the best meringues.
