Description

Barefoot path in Wiedlisbach This family hike starts at Wiedlisbach train station, where the barefoot path of the Pro Jura Bipperamt association is already signposted. After a few minutes heading north, you reach the Stiereweidwald and the adventure can begin. There are 15 differently sized boxes waiting for bare feet. Each box is filled with a particular material that feels different – including fir cones, tree bark, planing shavings, wood chips, and pebbles. How much it pricks and how long it lasts while walking, and how pleasant it feels, varies with every pair of feet. At the end of the barefoot path, you return to the starting point and put your shoes back on (bring a cloth to dry and clean your feet). Detour into history Pro Jura Bipperamt has also created a legend trail. It consists of three connected sections. They are decorated with a total of 24 panels that tell of witches, dragons, devil's pacts, and other "legendary" stories. The barefoot path borders Route 2, which you follow northwards. Before Rumisberg, it turns west on Route 3 with several panels in quick succession. The route also offers historical highlights: the path passes by Bipp Castle – a 13th-century castle in private ownership – as well as Oberbipp church. Beneath this lie a Roman estate and other archaeological sights that can be visited by appointment during church opening hours (Tel. 032 531 96 40). From Oberbipp, follow the legend trail to Niederbipp train station.
