Description
Follow the orange sign No. 3 marked “Farnihubelweg”. The Farnihubel Trail starts at Iseltwald village square. From here, it’s a leisurely walk along the lakeside path before a steep climb up to the top of the Giessbach Trail. The trail then winds through the forest alongside the cliffs. A variety of fern species grow here, which is how the area got its name (“Farn” is the German word for “fern”). Upon reaching the Farnihubel viewpoint, you are greeted by a magnificent view of turquoise Lake Brienz and the striking Seeburg Castle at the bottom of the peninsula. You return to the village through the forest via the upper trail.
