Description
The 4.5-kilometer long Salt Route takes you from Saline Riburg to the Rheinfelden city park.
The course is all about the salt deposits of Switzerland, starting with the ancient sea through antiquity and the Middle Ages up to today. What does the word “Salär” have to do with salt? How did humans discover salt? For what is salt used everywhere? You will find answers to all these questions here. The entire Salt Route takes about 1 hour.
On the Salt Route, you will encounter various stations with texts, pictures, and graphics on specific topics. Using QR codes, you can easily view further information on the respective topic or videos about salt on your smartphone.
Take a break in the city park East and enjoy the wonderful view of the Rhine and the old town.
