Excursion to Bally-Park in Schönenwerd

The route starts in the old town of Aarau and leads to the Aare, past the Schachen outdoor pool and through the forest to Schönenwerd. On the stretch of the Aare near Schönenwerd, with a bit of luck, you might spot a rare kingfisher. Then it continues into the incredibly idyllic Bally-Park with the former customs house, the pile dwellings, and various other cozy spots to relax.

At the Schönenwerd weir, the Buvette Aare snack bar invites you to take a break during the summer months. Afterwards, you walk back along the opposite bank of the Aare to the old town of Aarau. At the end of the route, in summer, the restaurant Summertime by the Aare offers cool refreshments.
