Description

The Verwall and Silvretta are easily accessible mountain ranges. Generally, we will follow well-marked trails, which run over alpine meadows, rock slabs, and snowfields. However, here and there, hands may be needed on sections secured with steel cables. Occasionally, we will encounter some untracked terrain.

The route starts in Kappl at the valley station of the Diasbahn cable car and ends at the Madlenerhaus, below the dam of the Silvretta reservoir at the Bielerhöhe. First, we make a loop northwards through the Verwall, then head south in an arc through the Silvretta. In the Silvretta, we cross the Swiss border several times. The huts we visit during our route are generally in beautiful, easily accessible locations and are five to seven hours apart. Because we sometimes climb summits, we will occasionally spend a bit more time on the trail!

The mountain passes are usually at elevations between 2600 and 2900 meters. If possible, we will climb a few summits: e.g., Kappler Kopf (2404m), Grenzeckkopf / Piz Faschalba (3048m), and Piz Larain (3009m).
