Description

Tschlin is located on a sunny terrace at 1,550 m above sea level. The loop starts at the village entrance by the postbus stop. From there, you already have a beautiful view of the opposite side of the valley with Piz Lad, Piz Nair, Piz S-chalambert, Piz Ajüz, and up to Piz Lischana. At the first fountain at the village entrance, we turn left and follow the forest road for 1.6 km. The gradient is steady, and the view of the opposite valley side and the typical terrace landscape outside the village is spectacular. Shortly before the fireplace at point 1656, we take the path right towards Palü Plajazan. It gets steeper here, and we turn (always following the marked path) left, where a nice, increasingly narrow rooty path begins. Along the way, we are actually greeted by a bear. After some tight hairpin bends, we reach a forest road, turn right here, and soon reach the highest point of the route at Plajazin, with some beautifully situated hunting huts. From here, you can again see the opposing mountain peaks. From here, it's all downhill. We follow the marked hiking trail (and not the forest road) towards Tschlin, all through the light coniferous forest. The last stretch leads us through the typical Engadin village of Tschlin. Right at the village entrance, we reach the Girun Brewery. We follow the road through the village, past several village fountains with fresh spring water and soon reach our starting point. Shortly before the end is the Restaurant Macun, where you can taste two different mountain beers brewed in the municipality of Valsot.
