Circular hike Vorderegg

From Matt, the cable car takes us up to the sunny plateau of the Kleintal, to the Weissenberge. Over alpine pastures and through mountain forests, the hike gently and steadily ascends first to Unterstafel and then to Oberstafel of the Vorderegg. Depending on the season, the alpine family can be found at Unterstafel or Oberstafel. The alpine farm is run by the Schuler-Altmann family from Matt and their cows produce the fine Glarner alpine cheese (AOC). What could be better than enjoying the new alpine cheese right on site with a refreshing drink. The hike continues to the Stäfeli ski hut and from there back over Ängisboden to the Weissenberge.  The return route can also be taken via Weiden, Stigenberg. This shortens the route by 10-15 minutes.
