Circular hike around Finsterwald

The easy and short circular hike starts and ends at the Bohrplatte, formerly a natural gas extraction site, today an industrial monument. Here you will find a children's playground, play meadow, barbecue area, four tables, covered shelter, and a toilet.

You first hike along the Fuchseremoos peatland and cross it after a short time to reach the village of Finsterwald. The modern church, built in 1938/1939, especially catches the eye. At the edge of the village of Finsterwald stands a large wood chip hall and shortly afterwards the hiking trail enters the forest. In the Chilewald forest, a short detour allows visiting the Experience Platform «Forest & Wood».

After leaving the forest, the hiking trail leads via Finsterwäldli back towards the village and the Bohrplatte.
