Challenging racing bike route from Aarau into the Jura

From Aarau via Auenstein, Veltheim, Brugg, Vorderrein, and Rüfenacht, the route leads to Villigen. From here follows a longer ascent up the Rotberg, from where, in good weather, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the stately wine village Mandach and the Black Forest. The subsequent descent to Hottwil is followed by another ascent to the Bürersteig, then about 8 km downhill to Etzgen on the Rhine. At Rheinsulz, the Rhine is left, and the path leads south to Sulz and down the Sulzerberg to Kaisten. Along the Kaisterbach comes next Ittenthal - the smallest village in the Fricktal - and then Hornussen, from where it goes via Frick, Herznach, and over the Staffelegg back to Aarau.
