Description

This ski tour starts behind the last houses of Ober Dutjen. The route leads steadily uphill through sparse forests, alpine meadows and forest clearings. Sometimes steeper, sometimes more leisurely. In high winter, the ascent to the Dutjer Alp is almost or completely in the shade. At the alp, in addition to the sunshine, a really beautiful panorama opens up over the wide mountains down to the alpine town of Chur. Continue on to the ridge of the Cauma. We do not recommend climbing the steep northern slope in unsafe conditions. The tour can easily be finished on the Cauma - which is what most people do. If you prefer alpine terrain and the conditions are very safe, you can take the Dutjerhorn with you. You often have to carry some of the skis. The Dutjerhorn is the first summit of the Signina chain, which can be seen from further away. A truly magnificent backdrop awaits you on both peaks.

The difficulty on the Dutjerhorn increases to AD to AD+ (Cauma: PD).

The descent is always via the ascent route. Thanks to its northern exposure, this tour is an insider tip for powder runs.
