Description
From the station along the tracks and a residential area, you soon come across the Kander. It winds past beautiful riverbank sections and a small forest to the scout center and upwards over meadows into the forest towards the Üschenetal. The striking Lohner rock massif appears impressive. A steep path leads up to Alpschele, where a wonderful wide view of Lake Oeschinen and the Blüemlisalp hut next to the Hohtürli opens up. Southwards, the pyramid-shaped Altels summit catches the eye with its huge, smooth northwest face.
This panorama accompanies the hikers up to the Bunderchrinde mountain pass at 2382 m above sea level. From the highest point of the route, one looks down into Adelboden and the Engstligental. Descent over a steep gravel path before reaching the beautiful meadows of Vordere Bunder. After the Bonderalp mountain house, the tree line is reached. Through the forest and a short stretch along the Bunderlebächli, the hiking trail continues downhill to Adelboden.
Variant Short cut: By cable car to the Allmenalp. Further on to the Alpschle ridge and to the Bunderchrinde (2 hrs). Note: suitable only for sure-footed hikers!
