Description
The hill range of the Bucheggberg rises gently from the plains of the Central Plateau. The softly curved, hilly cultural landscape with its mosaic of forest and field, compact farming villages, hedges and field copses is an idyllic corner of the earth. In the forests, beech stands remind us that the name Bucheggberg may be derived from this tree species. The large-crowned beeches emphasize the delicate forms of this Bucheggberg landscape with their silvery-gray bark and reddish-brown buds on the finely branched twigs. The view of the Jura and the Bernese Alps completes the harmonious scenery.
The hiking trail does not present any higher demands. However, it is still worth setting out with hiking shoes. The hike is possible all year round but much more pleasant with reasonably dry ground and clear visibility.
