Description
Brunnen Route The bike route starts in the village center of Brunnen and leads you towards the Ingenbohl monastery. Then cycle uphill on the lightly trafficked paved road to the Schwyzerhöhe to enjoy the beautiful view for the first time. Then you descend quickly to the village of Morschach and from there climb again to the Axenstein. Take a short break here and enjoy the breathtaking view once more. Afterwards, cycle back to the village of Brunnen on a beautiful forest trail with a pleasant gradient. Andrea Waldis' bike tip Andrea prefers to train at home in Morschach. In the area of the Ingenbohl forest and the Axenstein, there are varied and challenging bike trails. Follow her example and don't forget to take breaks now and then. The view of the surrounding mountain world and Lake Lucerne always overwhelms anew.
"Always keep moving" Andrea Waldis' competitive spirit showed at a young age. Since the age of nine, she has been racing mountain bikes and competing with the best in the world. Her greatest successes to date are the Junior World Championship title in 2012 and a World Cup victory in 2013 in the U23 category. Her passion for sport was sparked by her family. Very often, the family went on excursions on foot, cross-country skis, or bike in the Schwyz region. From early on, her father motivated Andrea with the phrase "always keep moving" — to this day.
The professional cyclist with a heart for children Andrea Waldis is also committed to MTB juniors. She teaches schoolchildren to bike in evening training sessions. Since September 2017, Andrea Waldis has been studying at the University of Teacher Education Schwyz.
