Description

Practically adjacent to the city of Basel lies the Park in the Green – its name says it all.

The starting point of our route is the Seegarten restaurant. It is easily accessible by public transport (Neue Welt stop) as well as by car. In the family or a-la-carte restaurant you can refresh yourself before the walk or enjoy the outing afterwards on the beautiful terrace. A barrier-free toilet is available in the a-la-carte restaurant; if it is closed, the staff in the family restaurant will be happy to assist you.

The paths in the park are mostly flat and very well developed. Even short gravel sections can be easily managed with a wheelchair. Numerous routes lead around and through the park. Small bridges span the ponds and a water feature provides picturesque photo opportunities. Benches invite you to linger and take a deep breath again and again.

You should not miss the impressive dinosaur at the far end of the park. Don't worry: it is a vegetarian.

The round through the Park in the Green can be ideally combined with a visit to the Merian Gardens (dogs are not allowed there) or a relaxed walk along the Birs.
