Bäretswil – Bachtel – Wald: "Time for two – at Bachtel"
Informationen zur Route
Description
From Bäretswil, start the hike through a small ravine towards Wappenswil. You pass several small ponds. Until you reach the Chlaus-Hof. A small detour is enough.
Now you enter the forest where the widely known Anabaptist cave is located. Here or just below you will find inviting picnic spots. Then you climb numerous steps up to the Allmen. Now the Bachtel seems within reach.
The path through the fairytale-like forest leads you to the Bachtel at 1115 m above sea level. Up at the summit, the Bachtel-Kulm restaurant awaits, which is currently getting a makeover. The renovation lasts until 2025 – however, the "Schüür" provides a charming provisional alternative. 166 steps lead up to the viewing platform of the Bachtel tower, where you are rewarded with a wonderful panorama.
Continue following the signs towards Underbachtel, partly through the forest. After about half an hour, you reach the legendary Bachtelspalt. It is said that the crevice is slowly closing again. Who dares to climb down into the crevice? Continue on to the Alpenbad. Relax with a dreamlike view of the Alps and let yourself be pampered.
The last section takes you down the lightly trafficked Unterbachstrasse towards Wald. At Blattenbach, follow Bachtelstrasse. After the bus stop "Wald ZH, Ober Feld," turn right onto Blattenbachweg and follow the hiking trail until you reach the Bleichibeiz and hotel. Here, let the day end comfortably. After a cozy night, relax with the wellness pampering programme.
