Description
Starting in Grenzach-Wyhlen, the cycle path opens up views of Germany's most south-westerly vineyard, the Hornfelsen. Overall, this section of the route offers great views between the Rhine plain and the Black Forest mountains. Great wine panoramas open up as a reward at the end of a climb and the small Markgräfler wine villages guarantee an enjoyable ride.
The Markgräflerland region not only has almost 70 wineries along the route for every wine-loving cyclist, but also great sights such as the wine label museum in Müllheim, the "Villa urbana" Roman park or the listed historic centre of Staufen.
There are numerous places to stop for refreshments along the way; the traditional Balinea thermal baths in Bad Bellingen and Vita Classica in Bad Krozingen are also great places to relax.
