Around the Bettlachstock (UNESCO World Natural Heritage)

Ascent from the village square Bettlach on the alluvial fan of the Giglerbach. Past the Grenchen Castle ruins to Bettlachstock. Formerly managed, today a nature reserve and since 2021 listed in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage inventory due to old beech forests. Descent, partly steep, past the Mountain Inn Bettlachberg. Continuing under the cliff (insight into the geology of the Jura chain) towards Upper Brüggli. Another option for refreshments. Descent with a deep view into the Lochbach Gorge to Lommiswil Im Holz station.
