Description

Following old pilgrimage routes, the route crosses the Appenzell region from east to west with changing views. To discover are quiet chapels, large and small waterways, natural alpine landscapes, typical farmhouses and hospitable inns. On the way lies the Innerrhoden main town of Appenzell with many cultural sights.

On the first stage between Rankweil castle church and the Oberriet castle hill Blatten lie the fertile Rhine plain and the Paspels bathing lake. From Hirschensprung to the spot Appenzell, chapels, small wayside shrines and pilgrimage chapels line the old pilgrimage route.
