Appenzeller Mittelland route

The discovery route through the Appenzeller Mittelland starts in Teufen. After a short descent, you need to pedal hard shortly before Bühler. The long and intense climb to the Hohe Buche is challenging but rewarded with a beautiful scenery. At the top, you are greeted with a view of the Appenzeller rolling landscape, the peaks of the Alpstein, and Lake Constance. From the Hohe Buche, it goes down to Trogen. There, explore the Landsgemeindeplatz with the baroque Grubenmann Church as well as the Zellweger palaces or visit the Pestalozzi Children's Village. Afterwards, the route leads over Speicher and at the foot of the “Eggen” back towards Teufen. Before returning to your starting point, take a detour to Waldegg. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view once more and indulge yourself with culinary delights—you deserve it! After the stop at Waldegg, you ride back leisurely to Teufen.
