Description
The start of the winter hiking route is located in the holiday village Oberiberg, near the Laucheren chairlift. After the first few steep meters, a gentle ascent follows through an open moorland, which is a protected natural area. In the snowy landscape, the forests and mountain pines particularly stand out. The ascent mostly follows an old mule track. On the swampy paths, thick wooden logs were laid and the gaps filled with soil and gravel at that time. Later, the path was restored using traditional construction methods.
As soon as some height is gained, you have a wonderful view of the village Oberiberg and the Ybrig mountain world. In two hours, you comfortably reach the Ibergeregg Pass and the eponymous family-friendly ski area, whose restaurant with panoramic terrace invites you to rest and refresh. The descent back to Oberiberg is on the same path. The route is continuously prepared.
